Motorists now have a safe, highly effective weapon in the battle to keep wheels spotless thanks to the new ‘Custom Wheel Cleaner’ kit from the UK’s leading car care brand, Autoglym.

The new Custom Wheel Cleaner kit – which includes a one-litre trigger-spray bottle of Custom Wheel Cleaner and two wheel brushes – safely and effectively removes brake dust, road grime and other contaminants.  The cleaning solution includes a special blend of biodegradable surfactants, solvents and alkalis to loosen even the most stubborn and engrained brake dust, leaving an immaculate finish.

With optional alloys on a standard family hatchback costing several hundred pounds – and aftermarket wheels up to several thousand pounds – demand for wheel cleaners has increased in recent years, but many motorists are confused about which product is suitable and safe to use on their car’s wheels.  The acid-free Custom Wheel Cleaner formulation can be used on plastic trims and lacquered alloys, as well as more vulnerable finishes, such as polished chrome and aluminium and anodised wheels.  Unlike some acid-based cleaners, Autoglym’s Custom Wheel Cleaner also poses no threat to the finish and material composition of brake callipers and discs.

The British car care expert’s new kit contains two brushes, specially developed to optimise the performance of the solution in removing brake dust and other contaminants bonded to the wheel’s surface.  The smaller brush is designed to loosen dirt and brake dust on wheel nuts and narrow apertures, while the larger brush can be used to quickly apply and agitate the product over larger wheel spokes and hub surfaces.

“Wheels are a crucial part of a car’s exterior appearance,” comments Paul Caller, Autoglym’s CEO.  “Whether the vehicle has standard-fit wheels or expensive factory-fit or aftermarket options, an acid-free cleaner is the safest way to achieve a spotless finish.  This new Custom Wheel Cleaner kit contains everything the motorist needs to safely and effectively keep wheels in top condition, whatever their age or finish.”

Autoglym’s Custom Wheel Cleaner kit retails at £14.99 and is on sale from motor accessory shops.  More information about Autoglym’s range of premium car-care products, and details of nearby retailers, is available at www.autoglym.com
